If from the mainland it is possible to contemplate its beauty without equal, wait to see it from the sea.
We propose you to start a boat trip in the fishing village of Bermeo and sail the waters of this little part of the Basque Coast. In these waters, once navigated by corsairs and pirates, important naval battles of our history have taken place.
Once you leave Cape Matxitxako behind, you will discover the island of Gaztelugatxe. Linked to the land by a bridge and more than 200 steps, it is crowned by a hermitage dedicated to San Juan, to whom the fishermen of the zone render deep devotion, and to which different rites and legends are also associated. From the boat you will be able to contemplate the beauty of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a privilege within reach of few.
After seeing this spectacular landscape, used for the 7th season of Game of Thrones, you will visit Elantxobe, a charming small fishing village. Elantxobe is exceptional because it has integrated the architecture to the profile of the land without major problems. Its streets meander through the rock and hide corners and buildings with their own character, such as the church of San Nicolás de Bari.
Do not forget the camera and sun protection.
