This session has a three-fold objective:
- Gain qualitative and qualitative information on the current state of the art of teaching ICH in Europe.
- Provide participants with the opportunity to network and exchange experiences and methodologies for teaching ICH at a Higher Education level.
- Debate about future working lines to improve education on ICH at higher education
The session will start with the presentation of the outcomes of the UNESCO-ENCATC project “Learning on intangible heritage: building teachers for a sustainable future” which aim is: Raise awareness about the 2013 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) by revisiting the training programmes of universities training future decisionmakers and professionals in the field of heritage studies and sustainable development.
Secondly, participants will be given the floor to exchange experiences on education and teaching methodologies.
The workshop will end with a debate on recommendations for the further insertion of ICH in higher education curricula.
