María Salazar

Degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Public University of the Basque Country she has been developing my activity as a cultural producer in the Basque context since 2006.

She learned the art of production during her journey in the contemporary art production and publishing company Consonni where she worked as a project coordinator between 2007 and 2011. Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

Her most valuable learnings and experiments have been thanks to participating in organizations linked to culture such as the feminist collective Pripublikarrak, the Immersions festival, Center for Contemporary Art Derry-Londonderry (Northern Ireland), Sarean and Wikitoki. Since 2013 she works with Verónica More from Histeria Kolektiboa, a collective formed by women grouped around the axis art – culture – social transformation. Since the cultural gestation and the neighborhood of San Francisco of Bilbao they operate in La Karpintería, a hybrid between an office and a living room to produce, accompany and show different artistic expressions.

They facilitate to people and groups at the beginning or the middle of their career, space, resources and support to develop their creation, production and exhibition processes from experimentation in different artistic expressions, the professionalization of the sector and the relationship with local roots.
